Our CPA client in Clearwater is seeking an Accounting Administrative Assistant to join their growing team in a direct-hire opportunity. This position offers a unique blend of accounting support and customer service, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with clients while also supporting day-to-day accounting and administrative functions.
This role is highly visible within the firm and will serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing exceptional service while assisting with accounting, tax, and office administration responsibilities. We are looking for a professional, dependable, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced CPA firm environment and is willing to jump in wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing professional and responsive customer service
- Support accounting and tax professionals with administrative and client-facing tasks
- Assist with bookkeeping and accounting-related projects as needed
- Prepare, process, and maintain client documentation and financial records
- Support sales tax and payroll tax filings when required
- Coordinate client communications, scheduling, and follow-up activities
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems
- Assist with office operations and various administrative projects
- Learn and utilize tax preparation and accounting software platforms
- Provide support during busy tax seasons, including overtime when necessary
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience working in a tax, accounting, bookkeeping, or CPA firm environment required
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with sales tax and payroll tax filings is preferred
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Professional, friendly, and diplomatic demeanor when interacting with clients and team members
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy office environment
- Comfortable learning new technology, systems, and processes
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak tax season as needed
